HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
though it's kinda late for that...
anyways...

today I'm updating after a long long long long long long long long time...
so what has been going on these days? it's practice for SYF.
the past week or so was hell... screamed by ms ong, got pressured , chased out of the room and all that...
but nevertheless, we did improve!! although she claim that it was only slightly...

today's main objective of this post is to tell you that olivia (president) has given out the schedule for the practices and trainings until the end of SYF. I'll be typing the February one here just in case anyone of you need reference...

hey ppls,

it's a little late though but congrats on the successful performance of wild at heart concert. we still have more work to do to improve our performance and singing but it was a job well done.

now we have to move on to the next stage SYF.

next year will be it so lets work hard.
so practise dates.
1. 30 noc, tues @ Pasir ris crest sec school
2. 2 dec , thurs @ Coral sec school

there will be a two - way bus bringing us to both schools. Report to school at 1230pm sharp after lunch.
estimated time reaching back school is about 6pm.

well, yeah its holiday and everything but still come okays?
why?
cos there will be a test.

Last week of dec, ms ong will test 3 by 3 of the same section. if you fail, subsequent test will be on january and more difficult, sing 1 by 1 accompanied by another section. if fail again, sorry to say but no more chance given -
cannot perform for SYF.

So come okays?

and for the sec 3s , soon-to-be-4s, SYF probably will be the last performance of our secondary school career. ain't it fast? so lets put our best foot forward and do our best for what seems to be the last performance of our secondary school life.

THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!
actually two days more including today.
Anyway, here's a reminder.

Song Sequence:

On sunday, 14/11, meet at Somerset MRT station at the control station/ticket booth at 8am sharp. those who are late will have to pay fine and go there yourself.

Attire will be school base top and if you want, wear your spiritual's jeans and shoes so don have to bring so many things.

Hair and make up must be done, long hair tied up and fringe up. Make up should be light, just foundation, blusher and lipstick/gloss.

What to bring:

1. 2 Costume : formal and spiritual ( on HANGERS and IRONED)
- Girls: gown with silver shoes
- Boys: White top with blazer, black pants and shoes.
2. Scores if you need, in case last minute panic and forget the lyrics.
3. WATER BOTTLE

THE PLAN:

meet at MRT station at 8am and reach the auditorium before 9am. afterwords at 9am there will be a mass warm up with the other choirs, at the audience seats.

proceed to the loading bay and wait for turn to go up on stage for reharsal. while waiting, must practise.

Reharsal will only be about 15 minutes so coorperate and focus. walk up stage with tummy in and head up. After reharsal, change immediately. DO NOT DIRTY THE TOILETS. BE CONSIDERATE TO OTHER CHOIRS.

Then it will be performance time.

After the concert, clear everything in the dressing room and have your lunch and meet back at 03.15 pm for the 03.30pm concert. it will end latest at 05.30pm then dismissed.

LASTLY PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

1. TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR THROAT.DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

2. SLEEP AT 10PM SHARP ON SATURDAY.

Have fun performing and put up the best show ever, for those watching and show them we can do it!

i received lots of sms regarding tmr, actually today.

there are some changes to the time we are meeting for the dinner.
instead of 1pm it'll be 12.30pm as we will be rearranging our standing positions.
it'll be in the music room so don't be late or else you'll get a fine of $1!

hi people!

today i didn't attend the rehearsal but i think i get wad was happening from caryn...
so we now have to shout instead of singing.
To hell with that. well yeah i get we're soft and yeah.
so pls pls pls pls pls pls pls pls pls BEAR with it!

and juniors,
DON'T QUIT!!!!
i think that it's busy because of the dinner.
after that i don't think it'll be busy so hang in there!
we only have practice on Tuesday and Saturday. that's only two days.

next choir practice will be on Saturday from 9am to 12 noon.
pls be punctual as fines will be implemented if you are late.
and bring your scores too if not you will also need to pay fines.

today was...hmm...

Note to the sopranos: I'm terribly sorry for my poor teaching skills and going soooo slowly!!! Sorry!

next choir meet-up will be on Thursday for the 125 anniversary dinner from 3-4pm.

then on Sunday,we'll be meeting at 1pm in school for warm ups, attire: Choir tee and pants/skirt. at 1.30pm we'll be leaving for the hotel. from 2-3pm there will be a last rehearsal and the choir will change at 3pm.Pls note that we'll not be using the toilets we waited in the last time. By 7pm we must be at the service corridor and mr kung will be there to give us the que to go out.

after the performance, we'll be given $5 and asked to vanish from the hotel to get something to eat but must be back by 8.45pm to gather for the photo shoot. after which we can head home! home sweet home!

remember to be on time if not there will be fines! and bring your scores during choir practices too!

Make up:
Girls: light pink and purple eye shadow, eye liner/mascara (OPTIONAL), blusher, lipstick, foundation and make up remover.

Concert etiquette

1. DO NOT fidget.
2. DO NOT TAKE OFF HEELS (PLEASE! later whole hall stink...)
3. SMILE!!!! (just go HE~HE~ imagine some bunnies jumping all around of something...)

hi!

good work today for the rehearsal! you guys were great!
i know the standing up part is really really tiring but pls endure...

next choir practice will be on this coming Saturday, 10/7/10, venue is at the music room from 9am to 11.30am. sec ones will have to stay back to try out on the costumes.

the attire for the 125th anniversary dinner is changed for the girls to our choir gown. The red one. shoes will be the silver heels, at least 2 inch high and open toes with a strap behind.

please be reminded that there will be a full dress reharsal on this coming thursday july 8, 2010.
Attire/costume, what we'll be wearing on stage is mainly the same as rhapsody.

an overview:

Girls:
-black dress, knee length,shoulders i think must be covered, like have a sleeve.
-black stockings (opaque! if don't have go find Qian Yi from class 3H)
-Black shoes/heels( toes must be covered)

Guys:
I'm not sure but guess must be the full black shirt and long pants with your PINK tie.

Hi Choir, in case you never see the choir group on facebook, everyone need to watch 2 concerts(including boys) - May 31 Monday ACJC 730 @ Esplanade. June 2 Wednesday TPJC $12 @VCH (Ms Ong's conducting). There will be choir next Thursday 20 May to settle these things. Choir practice will only start during the holiday, so please do let me know who will not be in Singapore for June holiday practices. We will also be performing at aroung Sept/Nov. Choir Fund
Everyone is required to pay $10 for choir fund.It is accumulated to $10 as we all owe from Aug to Dec.
Pls pay by 17/12.Failure to pay by 17/12 an extra $2 will be charged each practice.

*NOTE:
Attendence has been very poor for this holidays' practices for the concert.We're unable to carry out more in depth practices due to the poor attendence.Including seniors,pls notify me when u're free asap to achieve full attendence.In the worst case scenario,we might not have a concert.Pls co-operate.

Bring yr scores as there will still be practice.
Be in ur pe/120th shirt with pe shorts or fbts as there will be activities.
Bring a dark coloured shirt,a change of clothes,towel,soap[if u wish to wash up].
Bring along some money as LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.

NOTE:
Excuses such as menstruation,headache will not be tolerated.You will still have to play the games.EVERYONE muz participate unless u're the station master/in-charge.
